I wonder why! I've a notification come into my gmail account when someone leaves a comment. This mail has a link that takes me to the exact blog entry where the comment was left. I would assume its the same for ya!
Or on second thoughts, maybe you're talking of some comments left on newer entries but pertaining to old ones! Sorry, if that! (even otherwise, since this comment of mine is 3+ times your post :)
